Sharpening Stones
Here at UniPAT Products Tenn, we offer the IM313 and the IM200 Norton Sharpening Stones. These are popular among professionals but we are now able to offer them to the general public at approximately half the MSRP.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Norton's Oil stones are manufactured using a proprietary process that impregnates them with a petroleum based product that allows the lubrication used during the sharpening process to stay on the stone's surface. As a result, the metal from the object being sharpened and the small pieces of abrasive that break off the stone become suspended in the lubricant. This prevents these materials from imbedding into the sharpening stone's surface, keeping it free cutting and making it easy to keep its surface clean. Norton sharpening stones are made of the highest quality materials and are unequaled for long sharpening life, maintenance of shape and smooth cut. The system is used by pouring the oil directly into the reservior and turning the stone holding assembly so that the sharpening stone becomes submerged in oil. As you progress from grit to grit, you will always have a stone oiled and ready.
The IM200 Professional
Sharpening System.
The IM200 is the household version of
Norton's Famous IM313 (offered below) This system consists of
3 sharpening stones that measure 8" x 2 " : (1) Course Crystolon
Stone for fast cutting, (1) Medium Grit Crystolon Stone & (1) Fine
India Stone for fine honing. These three stones are stored in
an attractive sharpener base and cover, made from rigid
injection-molded plastic for durability and impact resistance.
It has non-slip feet to keep the base structure on the counter top
while in use and slots in both ends of the base to keep the desired
sharpening stone in position. This system comes with 4.5 ounces of
Norton's sharpening oil.

Norton IM200 Sharpening System
The IM313 Ultimate Sharpening System
The IM313 is extremely popular among professionals and has set the standard for sharpening for decades. Walk in any established commercial kitchen and you will find one of these. The IM313 works the same way as described above in the How It Works section. However, the IM313 contains stones that are 11.5" x 2.5" and 16 ounces of Norton Sharpening Oil. The larger stones yeild more effective sharpening per stroke, saving time. These stones are mounted in a thermo set plastic frame inside a reservior type base. When one stone is being used, the other two are immersed in the oil bath, making them ready for use at with the twist of a wrist. The coarse Crstolon stone quickly restores badly worn cutting edges, while the medium stone produces the average edge needed for many tools. The two Crystolon stones are a silicon carbide abrasive for fast cutting and edge sharpening. The Fine India Stone is an aluminum oxide abrasive, which gives a keen edge and finer quality finish.
